I believe this to be a follow up of another digital painting I created below; as I begin to learn to navigate my own paths towards growth this updated painting is a mix of who I am in this moment and the ideal self I hold in my mind. This being is a representation of my own inner world colliding with the chaotic world I'm involuntarily bound to.
Get lost in the void of a visual representation of my life at an imbalance, all while I desperatly attempt to fly out of there before it's too late.
It doesn't matter how much older I get, every time I'm faced with my adulthood I still feel like a little girl playing dress up. Though at the same time the older I get, the more I realize a lot of adults are in my exact same position.
Taking notes from the multiple fashion personalities of Generation Z. THEM represents the androgynous nature of our contemporary culture to collage past eras with original ideas and create looks we only used to make up in our imaginations. This digital painting’s inspiration stems from many sources; including my culture, vintage animation, animes like Demon Slayer, and the great artist Peter Max.
Revisited a character I drew in my sketchbook and it ended up taken on a life of it's own. The concepts explored in this painting include the duality of the human spirit. How one being can be two, or more, separate identities at once.

Something that grew from the reality of adult acne. This digital painting expresses, from multple point of views, the hardships one adult goes through when dealing with a resurgence of acne well beyond their teenage years.
The visual imagery of this one is playful but it’s actually loaded with meaning personal to my story. This digital painting is a meditation on the duality of identity. Speaking on the complex layered realities of black girlhood and self-invention, when your world coincides with outer expectations.
