Social issues are present in our every day lives. Whether it be racism, lack of representation, or an unequal distribution of wealth. These social issues warrant our attention. But too often we forget about the real world problems that plague us and become consumed by the upkeep of our comfortable bubbles.

Makayla’s art, like her style and her mind, is bold and daring. She transforms intellectual theories into beautiful artwork, focusing on the ideas of what it means to be human and how we as humans define ourselves. In doing so, she demonstrates the power that art has to make real world issues easier for people to empathize with and understand.
